During the 19th International Solvent and Extraction Conference (ISEC 2011) held in Santiago Chile a study of affinity extractants for the selective recovery of IgG from proteins was presented. The affinity materials were custom synthesized by Syncom during the course of the European project ‘Advanced Interactive Materials by Design’ (AIMs) in collaboration with 24 other companies and universities. The common goal was to develop and synthesize supports that can be functionalised with affinity ligands in order to purify targeted biomolecules. The affinity ligands can be used in several different extraction systems, e.g. ATPS, Reactive Extraction Systems, Micellar Extraction Systems and in Super Critical Extraction Systems.
Syncom can deliver several affinity materials from stock and offers design and custom synthesis of novel affinity materials as a service.
